Upgrades (think MoRryde) and insurance coverage

I'm a retired insurance adjuster who recently had the MoRryde IS and disk brake upgrades performed on my coach. My policy provides full replacement cost coverage on the coach if there is a total loss during the first five years we have it. In looking at my policy I realized the value stated does not include my IS upgrade. After a call to my agent and a talk with a company underwriter, I was told the upgrade could be added as a "custom equipment" endorsement. This is on an actual cash value basis, but if there is a total loss I will be paid the original stated value PLUS the actual cash value of the upgrade at the time of loss. The additional premium for me is $89 per year.

If your policy is similar to mine with replacement cost for the first five years, you may want to consider adding the custom equipment endorsement. Incidentally this endorsement would apply to other additions as well (i.e. Rooftop satellite system). If the MoRryde system was not as expensive as it is, I would not have thought to question my agent about getting this equipment added in case of loss)

If you think this is something you might want, contact your agent and talk with them about custom equipment you might have. Hope this helps.

Oddly enough, have that coverage also on the TT, TV and scat car! All the add-ins add up quickly too.

I think I am pretty safe saying that about 95% of people have no idea of what their policy covers. But they saved 15%!!
