Grrrr ... Replaced the old regulator valve out with a new one and I still have the same problem! I've changed out everything but the hose that runs from the street side to the curb side. You know the one that runs through the front compartment where the electric jacks are.

The automatic switching happens irrespective of the position of the selector switch. The selector switch gauge merely indicates the full/empty status of the tank you switch it towards.

The tank on the far side of the RV from the main regulator should have the standard pigtail going to a 30psi small regulator (usually red), then the crossover hose going to the main regulator. The small 30psi regulator can fail. The small check valve fitting usually at the end of the pigtail, and the end of the crossover line where they go into the regulators can fail. The crossover line itself can fail if the inner hose liner collapses (usually if it was pinched or bent at too much of an angle).
You can test each segment, or just replace the entire shooting match for fairly cheap. Take it off, go to your local propane distributor and have them make the hoses and replace the fittings and 30psi regulator. The hoses/pigtails they make will be much better and cheaper than anything you can buy premade. Good luck!

Thanks Scott. The red regulator was replaced recently as part of the overall effort to fix my problem. I'm going to replace the crossover hose next. It's the only thing left to replace.

I hear ya! I highly suspect the check valve fittings. I've had enough of those fail I finally replaced them with straight through fittings. Here is a link to what yours might look like. I have seen several types and sizes depending on the age of the regulator. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-59954-P.../dp/B01E61IK00
Let us know how it all turns out!
