Capping Refrigerator LPG Tubing

I replaced the dual source Dometic refrigerator in my 2015 MicroLite 21FBRS with an electric residential refrigerator. I tried capping the LPG copper tubing that was connected to the original refrigerator with a commercial sealant and copper cap, but the CO/LPG Safe-T alarm frequently goes on and my LPG tanks are going empty with very little stove top use. I suspect leakage from the LPG tubing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to properly and permanently cap the LPG copper tube? Thanks!

The fitting on the propane line is a flare fitting. In order to seal it correctly you need a flare plug. Also, you don't need any sealant on it. The flare will seal metal to metal.

We don't know what size supply line ran to your refrigerator?

Most RV's supply the refrigerators with 3/8" copper line at the refrigerator connection fitting. Fittings are sized by the O.D of the supply line. If it was plumbed with a flex hose, you will have to do some detective work.

Can take a bolt that you think you can screw in, BUT DON'T, and get close to size...

Right on all of the above!
You can get the plugs at nearly any hardware store. It would be a "3/8" SAE flare plug"
No sealant of any kind is needed, and I must caution that run of the mill pipe sealant will not hold propane. The plug will seal best without any sort of sealant.

The secret to success is to surround yourself with people much smarter than you. I screwed on a 3/8" flare plug to the fridge line and turned on the LPG tank. The Safe-T sensor is silent. I am a happy guy. Thanks everyone.
