Check your propane tank
Hi , I live in Ontario,Canada and have a 2006 3500DS. I just removed the 100 lb propane tank due to stone chips and rust. If you have one you should check to make sure you don't have any problems. I will try to add pics.

Are any of you using the Viking non metal tanks? If so, are they worth the extra cost for a lighter load and can you truly see the propane level?

tanks here in NB are visually inspected at refill stations and can be condemned at any time. they also have a 10 yr max life before having to be recertified. Generally by that time they are trash anyway.
good idea to replace yours.

Who puts 100# propane tanks in RV’s? I think the 30’s are too heavy!

The 3500DS is a motorhome. It's pretty common to see 100# LP tanks in them.

In a MH it would be called a "chassis tank",meaning it is bolted to the frame.

A 100 pound tank would last me 9 or 10 months, using it every day here in the South. That seems like overkill.

Milcop4523 is correct about inspection and the reason I posted this was because it was inspected by a propane fitter and he filled and tagged it as ok to use. I didn't tell him I am a G1 natural gas and propane fitter, so I would like everyone to be careful and do make sure any parties involved with this process are doing it right. So when I got back to my shop I just took it out and I think I should give it to the guy that did the inspection as a gift.

Give it to his boss ( if he works for someone still) and ask him if the people he hires have a vision plan for glasses.

You don't have to fill it necessarily, if you don't want to carry a full tank.
