Mr Heater and low pressure system

I use a mr heater for my cabin and would like to use in my RV on occasion. Does anyone know an easy way to use a low pressure system with a Mr Heater

https://www.mrheater.com/12ft-big-buddy-rv-hose.html

Not sure if this will work with other models besides the Big Buddy

Mine has a regulator already connected that looks very difficult to remove so that hose wouldn’t work unless I remove the regulator.

You definitely will need to remove the regulator if you want to use low pressure LP from your RV

My Big Buddy has a separate port to attach the low pressure LP than where the bottles would connect.

Your other option would be to T off the high pressure line from your LP tank (before the regulator) and bring that to your Mr. Heater.

Remember if you remove the regulator to have it work on the Low Pressure system. you need to reconnect it before you use it in your cabin.

Mr Buddy Heater

You could run the Mr Buddy off of a separate 20lb bottle with an adapter hose from a place like PropaneGear.com. When I purchased my Blackstone griddle it had a regulator and ran off 1 lb propane tanks. I bought an adaptor hose to run it off a 5 lb,or 20 lb bottles using the Blackstone regulator alone. I then removed the Blackstone regulator and installed a quick disconnect fitting from the above said company. I then did an experiment with the griddle and used two regulators. The heat was measured with a non-contact thermostat and rose to 220F degrees. I then removed the Blackstone regulator and took the temperature using the onboard low pressure system of our camper and the griddle reached 540F degrees.

Here is a video of how Ray (Love Your RV) did it:

https://youtu.be/mRxUB9tktOs

Please consult the Mr. Buddy manual for connecting to a 20lb propane tank. They "strongly suggest" that a propane line filter should be used although Ray does not install one. I generally follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

HERE is the 12' Mr Heater hose (w/o fuel filter).
