Propane grill connection
On my Sabre 5th wheel I have a factory propane quick connect that runs the small grill that came with the camper. Because the factory grill is less that stellar I just got a Blackstone griddle for Christmas. I'd like to be able to connect it using the quick connect point by the outside kitchen. I asume that this quick connect is controlled by the pressure regulator that runs everything else on the camper. Is there a way to bypass this regulator as the grill itself already has one?

I did it on my pop up. Used a fitting to bypass regulator on the griddle.
Worked great. Thought I bought it on Amazon but not in orders list.
It is out there somewhere.

You are correct. You can bypass it by running the hose off a Y-splitter attached to your propane tank, before it goes through regulator, or taking hose off your Blackstone if fittings allow and replacing it with a straight hose with quick connect fitting. Use search window at top of page, this has been discussed many many times, lots of info and tips.

Ya I saw that also but I have the 28inch griddle. Not sure if it will work.

Another option to consider is to remove the regulator from the grill and just put a quick connect fitting in place so you can hook the gas line directly from the low-pressure fitting. That's what I did with my Weber Q and it works great. Bought a 20 ft hose and a fitting and I can cook with the grill a comfortable distance from the trailer.

I went through 3 different size fittings before I gave in and spent the extra $10 on this...works on my 22".
It appears to be the same on your 28" from the picture but only specifies the 17 and 22 on the site.

I looked up the 28. Has hose to reg and 20 lb bottle connection. Othe end of hose should be 3/8 flare, with hose end being female. There are adaptors with 3/8 flare female to quick disconnect.

you seem to be getting advice for two different solutions. you originally asked if you could bypass the rv regulator as the grill already has its own regulator. yes you can by using the y-adapter on you rv propane tank before the regulator. you would probably need an extension hose to get from the rv tank to where you place your grill. make sure that hose has the proper acme nut terminations.
many have suggested removing the regulator from the grill and replacing it with a quick connect fitting that connects to the rv quick connect. again you will probably need an extension hose but this one would terminate in quick connect fittings. many have done this and there are several youtube videos on how to do this.
hope this helps. say thanks to santa and enjoy

Thanks for all the input! I'm thinking I'll probably end up removing the regulator from the grill and go the quick connect route with a longer hose. I'll let you all know how it works out.

ok, now that you are going to remove the grill regulator may i add something. i'm not sure how a blackstone connects to the regulator. are you always going to use the blackstone with the rv quick connect? will you ever want to use it standalone?
what i did with my coleman is to remove the regulator and attach the male half of a quick connect to the grill. with an extension hose (quick connects on each end) i can connect to the rv quick connect. the regulator i removed was designed to screw onto the little green propane bottles. i put a female half of a quick connect on it. so i can screw it onto a green bottle and put the two quick connects together to run the grill from the green bottle. i also bought a hose that has an acme nut so it will attach to a 20 lb propane tank. the other end of this hose has a fitting on it that is the same as the top of the little green bottles. so if i want to run it from a standard propane bottle i use the hose and screw the original regulator onto the end of the hose.
all doable and parts are available either from the hardware store or online. i have actually used the grill in all three fuel configurations and it works fine. as always use teflon tape made for gas applications and check each connection with soap solution.
