Propane Leak?

This is not good, correct? When I open the propane tank valve I hear and smell propane. After soapy water I find that propane is coming out of the small hole in the regulator.

I can draw propane from the other tank and not have this leak, correct?

Ruptured diaphragm, regulator needs to be replaced. The hole's a vent for just this circumstance.

It will leak unless the gas does not go thru it.

That same regulator was the first warrant repair on our 2017 Coachmen.

I really dislike those little red secondary regulators for the far side tank. I replaced three before I just removed it 2 years ago and replaced with a straight through fitting. Hose going across to the main regulator is rated at 350psi, same as pigtails.

If that is the secondary regulator for the second tank on the drivers side...I would think that you can still use the main regulator for the first tank on the passenger side. But I would replace the leaking regulator ASAP.

Propane Leak?

I had it replaced by the service department here at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, SC. They did a great job and the $75.00 bill even covered the new regulator. It was very cold (35) and they had all to correct tools, teflon tapes, etc. All good now.

Mine developed a leak last summer. I sent an email to FR cust serv and they shipped me a replacement for free even though Im no longer in warranty. In the interim I just turned off the tank on the leak side and on the good/main tank side I manually set the change over lever to point to main tank. Had the main tank run out before the repair, I would have just physically swapped tanks.

Interestingly Tom and I have the exact same Wildcat model and now we get the exact failure. No worries though since Forest River service continues to be fast and accommodating for failures like this.
