Propane pressure question

I've not tried this yet, so before I really screw up, I thought to ask for advice.

I want to connect my RV LP tanks via the quick connect to my Coleman 1lb camp stove and a small propane 1lb grill by way of a splitter. My concern is that the RV tanks are already equipped with a pressure regulator and the Coleman stove and grill also have a pressure regulator each. Will this idea work or will the gas pressure be so reduced that a proper flame is not possible in either the grill or the stove? And if that is the case, is there a way to make this work with some modification of equipment? The RV is a 2021 Rockwood 2608BS with 30 lb tanks. Thanks in advance for your help. SteveG

You can not run two regulators in your supply line. You will have to delete the regulator on your camp stove in order to run off of the QD line.

Is this what you have?

Yes it is. The problem then becomes how to connect the propane hose 1" male throwaway fitting to the Coleman stove and grill. This may be impossible.

In order to run your camp stove off of the propane QD on your rig you will have to remove the brass fitting on your current regulator and put together a series of fittings similar to this: (this may not be exact for your application as this is for a Coleman Road Trip Grill, but the process is the same. If you attempt this make sure you note the correct order of the check valve parts in the brass portion)

Thanks DW. So it is possible to do this. Where would I find the parts you are recommending I use? And the end part that goes into my stove is the original end of the Coleman regulator "stem"? Yes?

If you know what fittings you need you can get them off Amazon. If not, there are several online retailers that sell propane supplies.

hey guys,
great explanation and solution.
My question : i am trying to connect my propane bbq to the QD and noticed that the pressure won't allow it to lit up. removing the bbq regulator as recommended could be dangerous and i would not be able to control the flames and burn my steak. any other solutions?
i appreciate your help.

There are adjustable regulators. Do a search in google with the fittings you need.
