Suburban water heater won’t stay lit

Hey can I ask for some help? We purchased a new Suburban SW6DE heater and after installation, it runs for about 20 secs (gets hot) then shuts down. You have to go through about 30 minutes of resetting the on off button Before it will get hot enough to take a shower. Can you please advise me as to what I’m doing wrong? Heater was self installed. I followed some posts here for installation info but I believe it is installed correctly. Thanks for your time. This is my living quarters, not a summer home. Thanks.

Have you checked the troubleshooting section of Suburban's manual or website?

Thermocouple?

Circuit board?

Limit thermostat(s).

Wire connections?

Are you sure that your LP system pressure is correct at 11" WC?

I like his user name. The E stands for electric. Take the outside panel off and turn the switch on. It's in the lower left hand corner. Just remember to turn it off when you winterize.

Wind can also be a factor. If the wind is blowing directly into the venting it can blow out the flame. If it's windy where you are, have somebody flip the switches while you stand in front to block the wind and see if it stays lit. If not then you're back to all of the troubleshooting listed above.
