There are no RV fridges that are just propane or 12v.
There are small 3-way fridges that are propane/12v DC/110v AC.

I guess the laws that require you to turn off the LP do not apply to you?

+3. Been towing with fridge on for years with no issues. A small bit of keeping life simple for me.

Your fridge will stay cold for hr. But if you ever get into an accident you now have an open propane valve and that’s alittle dangerous. So I would advise you to insure the wife for a lot if your going to drive with it on.

Can't run my fridge very long on 12v: my cabover has only one battery and the truck only supplies about 7-9 amps. Battery goes dead after about 6 hours.

Small motor home has 2 grp 24's - no problem for the MH alternator to keep batteries charged. Have always run on propane in the past with the TT with no issues.

They apply but I have common sense. My propane isn't going to explode for one reason

Like very little dangerous. These new propane tanks choke off most of propane flow if they detect a sudden flow of propane from a cut/damaged propane line. Anyone who has had trouble lighting a propane appliance too quickly, like twirling the valve open too quickly and opening a control valve has see this in action. The appliance barely lights, if it does at all.

Yep, many are unaware of this and hang on to older ideas.

What are your thoughts?

Travel with refrigerator running for 50 years. I don’t turn it off to fuel. Still here.

Sounds like to many movies to me. Yes propane is very flammable but many cities, counties, and businesses now use natural gas and I seen several older vehicles run off propane and their valve had to be open.
