Two appliances from one low-pressure quick connect - will it work?

We do almost all of our cooking outside on our Weber Q100 and our 35-year old Coleman stove. For that we currently lug around a spare 20-lb tank and propane tree.

I am aware that if I removed the regulators from the BBQ and stove I could be running either from the low pressure quick connect that exits the side of the trailer. But sometimes we use both at once and I'm wondering if there's enough pressure in that line to power both simultaneously with a splitter like this:

Your feedback is appreciated.

I am going to venture a guess and say YES... probably your furnace puts more propane demand to use (BTU's) then both of those appliances combined.

I just recently took off the regulator on a propane fired fire pit to hook to the TT system as I got tired of lugging a dedicated 20# tank around just for that. With a 10 foot extension to the hose, it worked out fine last week and I can leave my 20# tank at home.

Seems like it might work - just like using the oven and stove burners at the same time works. Not sure how much flow the Webber uses vs the stove burners though. If you spring for the Y-adapter let us know how it works.

Maybe- maybe not. Depending on the length and size of the hardline and fittings (ells etc) under your camper and the total btu load of your appliances. For example 10 ft of 1/2" black pipe at 11" wc will pass 291,000 btu, 20ft 200,000 btu. Try it if you have a lazy yellow flame smaller than normal on one or both then you have a capacity issue.
Good Luck

Ps Just looked at your picture again, both of your appliances are "hi pressure" meaning the regulator/gas control valve is "looking" for pounds not inches, It will burn but you will probably have a very small flame and with the removal of the "regulator" no flame control. There might be a conversion for the grill but i am not sure of any for a conventional coleman stove.

again good luck

The piping size does matter as well as what you are using in addition at the time. You need to know your max flow rate of the dual regulator on your camper as that will likely be the bottle neck.

If you add the demand for all gas appliances at the same time you can get your answer but it requires work.

I can tell you that I run my generator off my low pressure L.P. port but I don't run the furnace or the burners...maybe the water heater at the same time.

There are conversion kits for the weber q that replace the valve and remove the regulator to work with low pressure.

Gasman6674 is right on with the low yellow flame so you don't have to do the math on the regulator piping and appliances.

If you have issues with the Coleman stove I bought a $12 butane burner. Fuel canisters are $1 each the size of hair spray cans.
Good luck and let us know!

This more complicated that I thought. I think that for now we'll stick with the 20 lb tank and the propane tree!

It is not complicated to try it but doing the math is. The other option you have is to split it before the regulator with one of these.

https://www.etrailer.com/Propane/MB-...03613-MBS.html

I did it after the regulator because I wanted to use the existing quick connect and figured I would not run the furnace and the generator at the same time (only need gen for the AC).

Never had a problem running an outside Barbecue and Double Burner Stove with everything running.

Yes, you can, and it should work just fine. I made my own T fitting with quick connects on it, bought several more hoses, and now I can run our two burner camp stove and the grill at the same time. I got tired of lugging around another jug of propane when I already had two 30 pounders onboard already.

I agree with this...

your probably not using furnace, nor inside stove while outside cooking, and those two things work together on the same line
