The idea is that hot air rises. It’ll get sucked in by the A/C air intake and then blown out by the air conditioning vents helping to better distribute it. At least, that was one explanation that I read.

I do use the “heat rises” theory but I set the zone 1 fan to low when I go to bed. I set the zone 1 for furnace but usually at 70 degrees. I use an electric heater and the fireplace in the living area. My theory is that the warm air generated by the fireplace and space heater will be distributed throughout the RV. If the temp falls below 70 degrees then the furnace kicks on.
I don’t use the fan in zone 2 (bedroom) as it is very noisy. Usually the only time I use zone 2 is during hot times where zone 1 needs help. At night, I turn zone 2 off and turn zone 1 fan to low from auto and set the cool temp appropriately. This keeps the bedroom cool without the loud noise of the zone 2 ac...
