Very Low Flame on Blackstone 17 Grill
We have a new 2020 Sunseeker 2860ds with the quick connect propane in the back of the rv. When I connect the Blackstone to it I can barely get it to light and when I do the flame is very low. Not suitable for cooking really. I had the same setup on my 2012 Sunseeker 2860ds and it worked flawlessly. Anything I can look at? Do you think the dual regulator system out of the propane tank is causing my problem? Will I have to run a new line from before the regulator to the quick connect? Thanks for any help given

Unless you've removed the regulator on the Blackstone you'll need a high pressure LP connection to feed it. The factory installed LP Quick Connect is on the low pressure side of the system.

How are you connecting to the griddle? Are you using something like this?

If not you may be regulating twice.

That’s almost exactly what I’m using except it’s on a 12 foot hose as seen in the photo below. The Blackstone regulator is removed when using it with the RV so it’s not being double regulated.

How is the propane flow at the stove top? Somerimes flow can be restricted at the cylinder if opened too quickly or if flowing immediate when opened. If poor there too, turn off propane at the cylinder, turn off all appliances (water heater, stove top, oven), disconnect the quick connect to the Blackstone and the turn on very slowly at the propane tank. Then they again.

How hot does the griddle get? The flame on our 17 isn’t impressive but it heats the griddle nicely.
We use the same hose connected to the LP outlet on our TT. Also use the small bottles when away from the camper.

Not very hot. Just barely hot enough not to leave your hand on there for more than a second. Inadequate to cook with. Flame is super low. Barely enough to even start up. It’s baffling beca8se it worked so well with my old Sunseeker

So your issue is in one of two spots. In the griddle or in the new Sunseeker. Rule out the griddle by connecting it directly to a propane bottle using a regulator. If that's OK, then the issue is in or upstream of the quick disconnect. I'd suspect that from what you posted. Is the disconnect on a flex hose? There could be a kink. There could be gunk in the disconnect itself. Is there a valve between the main supply and the disconnect that may not be completely open?

I had the same problem with mine. I finally decided it was nicer to have my table and stove further away from the trailer, and I carry a small bulk tank. I don't miss the quick disconnect system.

Sounds like you are using two regulators one is at the onboard tanks. The other is at the blackstone griddle. You can't use it that way. I use a 20lb tank and extention hose to connect with blackstone griddle regulator

If the regulator on the grill was removed is it possible some contamination has found its way into the inlet and blocking flow?

I also wonder if the Blackstone will work connected straight to a 20# bottle. The OP's posts do not say he had it connected to a bottle. We went camping some months ago and found that my Blackstone would not work connected to the TT's gas line via a quick disconnect nor would it work connected to.a bottle. We winged the trip and after we got home I tried everything to get the Blackstone to work, but it would not. I finally sat down and took the Blackstone apart and founda tiny bit of dirt dobber nest in the gas control valve, vey tiny. After cleaning out that part of the control.valve with a welding torch tip cleaner and putting it back together all worked fin e. The Blackstone had been stored in the front storage compartment of the TT, , ,
