Where do you fill your tank

I haven't owned my Sunseeker Class C long enough to have to refill the propane tank. With my trailer, I removed the tanks and took them to Tractor Supply or Camping world, no big deal. Where do you fill your class A or C propane tanks? Don't think I can go to TSC, but does Camping World fill these? Tanks!

Our Tractor supply started filling them on the RV. You may want to call and see, as I asked them about it not too long ago.

Many bigger Uhaul places also sell propane.

The post was made by the owner of a motorhome, not someone like yourself with a trailer who can have their portable tanks/bottles filled just about anywhere. Only certain locations are licensed to fill motorhome units because they’re attached to the vehicle.

The question wasn’t about prices for propane.

Thanks for the thread on possible locations... called my local TSC and found they will not be filling my tank. I may have to wait until we start our trip and find a Flying J or other truck stop. But I don't really want to wing it like that.

I get the feeling you are talking about a travel trailer's propane tanks, but maybe I am wrong. The OP's question was specifically about a class C or class A motorhome, with an ASME permanently mounted propane tank.

For a few years, I convinced my home propane provider to also fill my class C's propane tank when they came around, but they will not do it anymore.

I think any good RV dealer can/will fill your propane tank.

With our latest class C, it looks like we will need to fill propane only every 2 years. What we have done is when we stop at a privately owned campground that sells propane, we just have them fill it while we are there.

I was told that our local (in the Midwest) home improvement store Menards will fill an RV's propane tank. I haven't tried that yet, but it could be an option for us. https://www.menards.com/main/service...ns/c-13167.htm

We also have a local construction equipment rental place that will fill RV propane tanks.

Flying J and Pilot stations with RV lanes usually have a propane station at the RV lane. I have never yet bought propane from them.

We've found that many campgrounds we visit can fill the tanks in our class A. We filled up the last time at a campground. Previous to that, our dealer filled us up for free as they had somehow released (or used?) about 3/4 of our tanks while the unit was in for service.

Well.......when the staff sleep in your rig overnight, and with temperatures being as cold as they are these days, they probably didn’t realize the propane level would drop that much while in their care?

We tried the FlyingJ, but they really didn't know what they were doing and couldn't get a good connection.
Luckily we have a propane dealer about a mile down the road from that delivers propane or you can take it there to get it filled. They also do repairs to propane tanks.
On ours, you have to crawl under the rig to bleed out the air and they did it with no problem.
There are a lot of rv campsites that will do it for you, but that really depends on the experience of the employees if it's done properly.

Try the 3 big gas companies close to you. You have AmeriGas, Siburban Propane and FerrellGas... give them a shout. If they can’t I’m sure they can tell you who can. They supply them all, I’m sure.

At home we fill LPG at the local tractor supply store. On the road we’ve filled at Loves and campgrounds.

Check for local residential propane dealers. One of our local residential propane dealers has an RV filling station at their store and they are about 60 cents per gallon cheaper than the truck stops and gas stations. I get my travel trailer and BBQ bottles filled there as well, but they have a drive through for filling motorhomes.

They might even "deliver" and fill your tank from a truck, but the deliver fee would probably be as much as the cost of the propane.

Tractor Supply has propane, . . . sometimes. They are not a reliable source.

They don't keep their tank full and don't always have staff available to do the pumping.

Given an option, I go to someplace other than Tractor Supply.

In CA and OR many service stations have LPG fueling facilities and will fill RV Tanks. It may be hit-or-miss on getting a well trained attendant to service you at smaller stations.

Here (Tucson) the Costco will fill either bottles or on the rig, and I can gas up on the same trip. Prices are as good as the lowest around.

Local uhaul will let me back beside there large tank and fill with their long hose.
Can also fill at local distributer for farm homes in area, just have to be available when their tech can be available to unlock gate and fill. Either of two options work well only charge for what they fill. Propane prices are soaring here as restaurants are using outdoor heating to stay open.
