100% silicone caulk

Is it better to use 100% silicone caulk instead of putty tape or butyl tape to mount slide topper brackets to the fiberglass Rv??? Opinions please.

Butyl will be your best solution.

Thanks. What about the Screw threads?what u use on those? Do u think I Should fill up whole void with brutal tape or just at screw mounting holes?

Mark screw holes and drill them on fiberglass, put the butyl tape on the back of the bracket and attach.
As you tighten the screws the butyl will fill in around them, ooze out around the bracket and the excess can be removed carefully with a plastic putty knife.

Thanks guys!! Putty tape dealer put on shrunk up and HALF The screws were stripped and some were loose. Had to put larger screws into get a bite. [emoji849]
