Best way to repair small siding hole

Not sure how it happened but there is a small puncture hole on the side of my trailer. I don't have a pic to post. If I had to guess it was something sharp that kicked up from the road. More concerned than angry as it punctures completely thru the siding. Best way to plug? Silicone? Something else? I don't want water to get in there. Trailer is only a couple of months old, don't want to take any chances. Something like this I would assume is not covered under a warranty right??

What type of siding do you have, aluminum or Figerglass? Also, not sure about warranty, but if you have insurance, it may be covered under your insurance..
