Black sealant used on trailer, what kind?

I have an issue in which a small drip of water makes it past the track that holds the awning on. It seems the track wasnít big enough for the awning, so they had to add a second piece and where they spliced it in is the issue.

I havenít got up there to really look closely yet but I can see black sealant around that spot, so I wonder what type they use?

It seems like it should be easy enough to fix quickly on my own without trying to bring it in for a warranty fix. But I need it look at it more closely first of course.
