Break In! Door replacement

We had thieves break into 11 trailers at the storage facility. I've been trying to get just a door frame inner and outer, but Lippert wouldn't sell it to me. So I have a full door unit and decals ordered from FR. Lois in parts was very helpful and it was ordered today. It will probably be here in a month or so. What a pain in the... um... Well, anyway, has anyone replaced an entire door unit? I'm sure it isn't difficult but sometimes there are little things that are good to know and other things to watch out for. Any advise would be appreciated... other than suggesting to take it to a stealer... errr... dealer.

The stupid part is that they got 9 DVDs and a plastic tub... That being said, most of them WERE Clint Eastwood Westerns... ... I guess they were interrupted when they got to my trailer, because my TVs and DVD player were untouched. Medicine cabinet ransacked, and every cabinet door opened...

They broke into a trailer out by the fence and stuffed everything into it, and left. I suppose they were waiting for an opportunity to come back and get it. The Police Officers got fingerprints and recovered everything, and think they know who did this... By the time I get the door and pay for freight, they will have cost me about $600- or more... and probably a day of working on it. If they sold those DVDs they probably have gotten about $4.50 max... It could have been worse. It could have been my trailer... Oh, wait... it was MY trailer... These guys had no sense at all...

Sorry to hear the bad news.

There are RV overstock doors on ebay for around $300 shipped or less including screen door etc.

Does your storage facility have cameras?

I lucked out as my storage place has cameras and live-in staff and is just around the corner near my house. But even then crooks will find a way...
