Good roof coating systems are not cheap but you can save by doing the labor yourself. I've looked at some products and a ballpark estimate for coating materials alone is probably between $500 and $750 for your length of roof
Some coating systems require a second coat and you may need to keep the roof dry in between coats, implying indoor temporary storage which could be additional cost.
If you need repairs to the substrate or the membrane that's extra cost and expertise required.
Call your dealer for a quote.

I used Henry 887 TropiCool and been happy with it.
Cleaned the roof first with TSP. Didn't take very long.
My previous TT, I coated the whole roof with two coats.
The new to me 2019 fiver I just coated over all the areas that had been caulked over. If there is nothing wrong with the roofing, doesn't seem to make sense to coat the entire roof.
It does cool the roof though, so if you are in constant hot area, then you may want to coat the whole roof.

Firstfiver,
Thanks for your testimonial. I looked at the data sheet for this product. I've been a fan of Dicor products but it looks like this coating system product is simpler to apply.
My motorhome epdm roof is in great shape through regular maintenance. If I keep it much longer I will probably use this product.

Home Depot's around here sell it in gallons and five gallon bucket. Also sell the caulk.
The caulk is silicone, but nothing like the silicone most would use for normal caulking applications.

I did my entire camper with the Henry 887 Tropicool, less than $400. I did two coats, looks better than it did new, a lot cooler to the touch, and no maintenance! It was a no brainier for me, should have done it a few years earlier.

I should have said, when I did mine, I pressure washed everything I could get off of the rubber twice, then scrubbed with dawn twice and then did a huge rinse down.
I did get the 4.75 gallon bucket from home depot, after two coats, I put two coats on my cargo trailer and still have over a gallon left. camper is 33 foot long and cargo is only 6X12. I'm very happy with it so far.

That's what really got me. I couldn't believe how far this stuff goes.
When I first started mixing it and then started to spread it, I figured it wasn't going to cover all the way.
But like the Energizer bunny, once you start, it keeps going and going.
I still have 1/2 the 5 gal bucket left.
If the weather hadn't gone to crap I would also have done my cargo trailer.
That would have really been a good test to compare how hot that is before Henry's and after Henry's.

Nice pics/job. Price is not objectionable considering the value it provides.
Yeah, we have a Home Depot, and any big box stores you can name, close by.
Thanks
Chris

I felt the same way, more than enough in one bucket.

Thank you! I honestly believe it looks brighter white than it did new.

Thank you, I have recommended it a few times already.
One thing I don't remember anyone saying, the first coat is hard to put down, it rolls like tar, the second coat goes on like any paint. Just keep in mind the second coat goes on much smoother and faster than the first.

My cargo had the top fiberglass nose cap and it was black, When I the roof, I also painted the black cap. Before you could not put your hand on the fiberglass in the summer, after I put the 887 on it, mid summer hot day it felt cooler than ambient temp.
I insulated the inside of the trailer and installed new plywood, so I can not tell you about how the inside temp changed, I did all this work at the same time... But, with the now Henry 887 top and insulated walls, ceiling and floor, you wouldn't believe the difference.

Good to know.
I do construction work and have my brake set up in my trailer for bending aluminum. It really gets hot in there in the summer. I am convinced that doing the roof with Henry's would make a big difference.

Thinking of coating my entire roof just to help my 5’er stay a bit cooler. How has it held up since you put it on? Just curious. Thx

Truckdriver1973, I did mine a couple years ago, I was up on the roof a few weeks ago, still looks brand new. No more maintenance, just wash it with soap and water and your done. I'm still very happy I did this, should have done it a long time ago, no more running up and down the ladder to clean, and then condition it, once and done!

I just coated all the areas where there were caulked penetrations. That was mainly because it got too late in the year to do the whole roof.
I used this on a previous travel trailer and it held up fine.
I will be doing the entire roof on my 5'er in the next month or so.
