Caulking or Silicone?

We have a 2016 W&P 38RLSW and when comparing the sealer along the outside to my other TH, it seems to be more like silicone/RTV than caulking. Does anyone know?

Use products made for campers such as Dicor caulks. Never use silicone, it will not hold up and then proper products will not stick.

On my 2016 Windjammer 3029W I have noticed what looks like silicone in many places. It is clear. I'm wondering if this a special RV product or if it is, indeed, silicone. I hope it's not silicone because that is the last thing I want to have to fool with when the time comes.

It is. I use Dap Clear for all side sealing - Silicon will not work!
DAP Products - Caulks and Sealants - DAP® Flexible CLEAR Sealant
Get it at Lowes . I have not looked into a replacment for dicor roof sealer, but the Dap Clear works great for all the windows ans other stuff on the sides of my camper.

What's interesting is that the Silicone/RTV they are used on my TH looks to have the same paint pigment mixed into it as the unit. My thought is they are mixing paint into the clear making it a color match. I'll try to get a close up photo.

Everything on the outside of mine has silicone. Not only that but the amature that did it smoothed it with his finger leaving 3/8" or more of it wiped around everything. There are blobs and smears of silicne everywhere.Ive been working on it with goo gone but it seems endless.

From the gutter rail down use Pro-Flex by Geocel, it's made just for RV's extra flexable.
