Correct position of AC freeze sensor?

I just got done replacing the A/C gasket on my RV and decided to clean the coils while on the roof. I noticed the A/C freeze sensor was inserted into the evaporator coil about 1" from the top of the coil. I've heard/read that the sensor should be either in the middle of the coil or close to the bottom.



Anyone with more experience with this know the correct location for that sensor? Thanks.
