Correct Roof Vent Lid

Hello,
I have a 2017 Cherokee wolf pup 16fq. Traveling on the interstate earlier today in high winds and although it was closed, the bathroom vent lid got shredded right off the top of the vent frame. I measured it to be 13 x 13 inches. It is a manual crank style. Can anybody confirm that is the correct size. Plan to call around Yuma RV parts dealers. Anything else I need to know to ask for the correct part when I do? Thanks, Ken.

All vent covers are of a standard size. Any RV parts dealer will have what you need. The hole may be 13x13, but the cover will closer to 14x14. The plastic roof vent cover is very flimsy and many people will add a 'Maxi Air Vent cover over the roof vent cover.

If you are just replacing the lid, there are at least two types of hinges. Take a picture of the one you have, or take the old hinge in and match it up. Easy to replace if you have correct hinge type

I used this Amazon $17 replacement from Hengs...
https://www.amazon.com/Hengs-Industr...omotive&sr=1-3

They also carry them in a smoke color.

Here's what the hinge looks like. You slide it on horizontally then bend the little end tab over to hold it in place.

Here is an explanation of the different hinge types to ensure you get a correct replacement: https://www.etrailer.com/question-238778.html

Thanks for that helpful information. While I wasn't able to go on the roof because I didn't have a ladder I was able to stick my cell phone up through the vent and snap some pictures of the hinge area. I believe I bought the right replacement. Way too windy in southwest Arizona today to do much about it. Will head up there in the next day or so and see if I can get the new one installed. Thanks again, Ken.

Correct Roof Vent Lid

When my bathroom roof vent lid broke apart I got the manufacturer's name off the frame and called them and got the correct part name and number from their tech/customer support individual. I then ordered the item from amazon.com and soon had it in hand and installed it.
