whether it is a patch OR if it is by design... that is not acceptable
I would contact Salem
even though it is out of the one year warranty.
It would be a good legal argument that this is a significant manufacturing defect.
would not be hard to argue "Implied warranty" on the siding :
1) industry standard for RV siding is suppose to last much longer than a couple of years
2) the fault was hidden under the finish so the customer could not properly inspect it.
acceptable to fix?
that depends on where there is any wood/composite behind the fiberglass .. before it is attached to the frame and the condition of the backing
the repair would be fairly expensive, best handled by a fiberglass expert.
