Decal replacement

I need to replace the decals on a unit I just purchased, should I buff the unit first before restriping or buff after stripes are installed? Thanks Michael

No idea. Maybe contact a local sign shop and ask their opinion?

Before.
I have removed some old decals and never missed them.
I would consider removing all of the decals on an older rig and just painting it white.

Remove the stripes, buff then restripe. Then you don't worry about buffing onto the new stripes. The old stripes will also leave a ghost where they were and it's hard to locate the stripes exactly where the old ones were.
I replaced the logo on the front of our trailer last year.

I have never felt any responsibility to renew the advertising on any of my RVs when it starts to look worn. They look better without it.
