Delamination issue

Just found this area of delamination on my back cap. Has anyone tried to fix delamination issues? If so how did it go? If used a dealer what kind of cost am I in for this repair?

I can't give you advice but if you could supply make and model of your trailer and detailed pictures showing the damage someone might be able to assist you.

I'm not seeing it.

Here's what a local camper repair place told me..

Fix the leak first. My damage was about the size of a dinner plate on the back next to the window. They said if it was sealed up it wouldn't get any worse.

To fix the right way would be cost prohibitive. If the areas small it's best to leave it alone.

Otherwise, they'd remove and replace the whole panel.according to the guy I spoke to it would be easily in the thousands.

Has anyone tried their own repair with the delamination repair kit? How did it work? Results?

The leak is on the roof. Must find that first. Fixing the bubble is cost prohibitive unless you can think outside the box and cut the loose siding out and replace with some other type of siding and a decorative trim. I just repaired my right rear corner on my 27rk. Siding pulled out from the too small corner trim. leak do to plumbing roof cap leak. Unit 14 years old. Put on new acrylic roof coating and installed a 1" corner trim. There is no fixing the delaminated plywood underneath.

Prior to the damage I Eternabond taped all seams and joints on the roof and caulked the remaining areas. That why this has me puzzled and now looking for a fix. No cheap fix may just trade the old girl in and take my chances.

Size wise just a little larger. This is the 2nd time it has delaminated on me the first time was just outside the 2 year warranty Forest River fixed it but cost me a trip out to Goshen Indiana and $1500 to repair the side wall and roof.

Ditto. My read is a leak at the marker light. Not an uncommon place for a leak to occur, just uncommon for it to get that bad before it is noticed.

I would call the factory and see if they can get you in for a consult. Their work, from what I hear, is top notch, fairly priced, and they usually fix way more than they contract for at no additional cost.

That's probably pretty good. I think I'm just going to keep an eye on mine for now.. I just bought it this spring and I've already dropped too much money into it. I've got it pretty well fixed up now so I'll have to see how it goes.

I'd seal it up as well as you can and keep a close eye on it. It'll be fine if you do.

Hey guys.. to be fair the OP's photos aren't showing up. I posted a photo of mine with a similar issue.

I've completely gone through mine now and re-sealed just about everything on the roof with Dicor Self-Leveling sealant, and the walls/seams/fixtures/vents with Pro-flex RV. Fought critters and hopefully fixed that as well now.
