Dicor advice.

I'm getting ready to replace the shower skylight. Do I need to remove all the factory's dicor or just enough to reseal the new skylight with new dicor.

I would get as much off as possible but as long as you have no high spots you should be fine. When you install the new skylight, in addition to the dicor, I would put a strip of butyl tape over all the screw holes around the entire perimeter of the skylight on the side that is against the roof. This will ensure no leaks through the screws.

Use Eternabond tape around the skylight. You can apply it over the dicor and will not have to worry about leaks for many years.

Be sure and use your sealant sb140 or dicor both underneath the skylight edge and over it. The method in the video worked well for me on my rubber roof.

The last several I replaced I did use a thick bead of dicor underneath. Make sure it squishes up through all the screw holes and around the edge. I then used eternabond all around, and used dicor on all edges of the eternabond. Be sure and do not over tighten the screws. Have had good success so far.
