How hard is the tape to remove if you need to replace the skylight?
I have never tried to take the tape up after it has bonded to the surface. I read where a heat gun helps soften the grip and it might be easier to pull up.

I also read somewhere that it is proposed that to remove a taped skylight it is best to penetrate and cut the tape with a sharp razor knife at the hard edge of the skylight. When re-taping, just leave the old tape on the roof and tape over the skylight edge onto the old tape after cleaning the old tape. That might be something you do 2 or 3 times over the lifetime of your roof, so I do not think it is a problem. The tape is not so thick that a buildup would be a problem.

Hope that helps
