Gap After Awning Replacement

Just replaced our awning a few days ago. I've had it in and out a few times. The back arm has a gap when closed, but the front is fine. Dometic 9100. It pushes in just fine, it's not stuck on the support arm on the wall.
Any adjustments anyone can recommend. TIA!

That can happen when the awning doesn't roll up on the roller square.
Look at how the fabric sides roll on top of each other.
It they are not "stacked" directly on top of each other with each roll of the tube when rolled in, it isn't square.

You either need to slide the fabric in the roller tube ot the fabric in the side wall channel to make it square. Many then put a pop rivet in the roller fabric and a screw in the side wall channel so it can't move.

It looks like it is "stacked" perfectly. I'll give it a few in and outs as it still has a few wrinkles from shipping.
I removed the small screw holding it in the upper track when I removed the old awning, but figured to wait awhile before putting it back in the upper track.
BTW: It's an 18 Ft. awning.

Is it possible that the remnants of an old pop rivet or two has fallen down into the gas strut pivot?

No, but thanks for the thought. That was one of the first things I checked. Like I said in post #1, I can easily push it in with no restrictions.

Awning Replacement

The awning material, where it is attached to the RV body, needs to be slid forward or backward a wee bit. Operate the awning in and out several times and observe the results. Then adjust again as needed. This may take several tries. Once you get it operating as you desire, put a sheet metal screw through the awning material into the mounting track at the roofline to prevent further movement.

Thanks Bob. I'll repost in a week or so as we leave tomorrow for ten days camping. I'll try adjusting it until I get it right. Like you said "wee bit" at a time.
