I'm curious to see what you did. I really wish my camper would've come with the original comforter so I could do that.
I probably need to do something like that to clean it up a bit. I also need to get some extra length out of my bed too so we usually have the mattress pulled away from the wall a bit anyway.

I will get some pictures together, l also put a piece of plywood on the storage cabinet lid under the foot of the bed to lengthen the bed foundation so it would not break the end of the mattress down when we climb up on set on the foot of the bed, still can open the storage same as always, did not block access.

I slid the mattress down a few inches and then stuffed the gap with some extra pillows. I use a wedge so I don't notice it but the wife isn't a fan.. I need a better solution. I'm thinking the plywood would help the foot for me.
My interior is brown and completely different (similar patterns). Maybe I'll just have to head to the fabric store and try to find something that would go with it in some way.. I'm.sure we can figure something out..
Thanks man for all.your help. :-)

Using the comforter gave extra padding for the headboard, because it is quilt lined , but you could get some quilting material then cover with a material color of your choice.

Did you cut the damaged wall out some? How did you repair that?

I used 1/2 plywood for my 2 legs on the back of my headboard , and 1 1/2 x 3/4 inch blocks, screw one into the metal wall studs and one to 1/2 thick plywood leg then screw them together that way you want need so long of screws, ( only place your going to find wall studs in your trailer on each end cap front and back, also around the slide outs , the exterior walls don't have vertical wall studs just laminated luan, Styrofoam and fiberglass).

I done all the mounting to the wall under the headboard, in the picture looking behind the headboard are just spacer blocks mounted to the back of the headboard.

Yes l cut the damaged luan ( paneling) replaced with 1/4 luan from Home Depot, I traced it out around window frame before I tore the old out so I would have a good match, some l of the cut around the top of the cabinet I measured a little big then fit it in place and trimmed to fit, so l could have a second chance to get it right.

You could only put this at the head of the bed but it would keep you from packing pillows in so the wall could breath after you put on new headboard in. Get some memory foam cut it to the length you need for additional length ( as stiff as you could find ,its going to be under your pillows anyway) get you and over sized mattress cover and some sheet suspenders for each corner to go over the mattress and memory foam. Then you could measure the additional length of the bed after the headboard ( and the reason for the headboard would serve two purposes, air space and decorative cover for repair) and put 3/4 plywood with rounded corners under the foot of the bed, 3/4 isn't to much you want be able to tell, plus you want the support for over hang at the foot of the bed.
