Hi Butch & Lena. Please see post #11. I described the best I can the steps I did on my installation. I'm sure other members here have a different (better) way of installing the eternabond tape. The most important thing to do is to TAKE YOUR TIME and plan on how you want to apply the tape. The curved ends is the toughest one as it will definitely have some tiny folds, maybe even some tiny air pockets.

I to put Eternabond on my TT today, have some more to do. I have been reading, looking at everything I can find on Eternabond placement. I have thought about putting Dicor lap sealant on the edges of the Eternabond, putting a small bead around the edges, or even smoothing it out as I go. I have read some articles that say no need for anything around the edges. What do each of you think or preference do you have?

Everything is more expensive in Canada,

What is the price (US) for the eternabond 6" and 4" wide rolls?
What lengths can it be bought in?
Purchase from RV stores or from Amazon or eBay?

ADOR....great work! Do you make house calls?

Cardwellmarty, thanks. You did a great job on your roof repair as well. That was a much tougher job than just simply applying eternabond tapes on the roof seals. Regarding the Dicor lap sealant on the joints, I did the FRONT and the SIDES. I have decided NOT to apply the dicor on the REAR. In fact, I flattened some areas of the dicor on the front (left and right) joint. I am afraid it might create a "reservoir", thus preventing a free flow of water down the FRONT. I always park my RV higher on the rear so the water will flow down to the front.

Kenandterry, I paid $81.99 per roll for a 6"x50' eternabond from Amazon. I ordered 2 rolls, used up 1 entire roll, and still have about 10' on the second roll. No house calls. Gas will be too expensive to drive to Ontario. LOL.

Question: What is that black round thing that is next to my sky light? Is that a vent for something?

I bought some in April but haven't put it on yet. Probably won't be able to until later in June.

I bought mine off Amazon.com.

One 4"x50' roll,
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and one 6"x50' roll.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's not cheap in the U.S. either, but less than up here. I had it shipped to a Kinek Point on the border and I went across to Wellesley Island to pick it up.

Just a question here, what if an rv with this type of eternabond sealing over all of the roof edge seams ever needed a rubber roof replacement? Would this make it difficult? Impossible? I plan to keep my park model for a long time and wonder how this scenario would play out.

They say if the tape goes bad, cut out the section and cover the holes with new tape...

More than likely that is your black tank vent. I am a plumber so I would remove the cover and take a deep breath. If it smells like money, that's what it is [emoji57] [emoji48]
Sorry, plumber humor.
And very nice job. Need to do that myself. I keep a 50' roll for emergencies but trailer is 2 years now so I think it is time.
Happy camping.

ADOR, thanks for all of the information and directions you shared and your pictures. They were extremely helpful. Here is our roof after putting the Eternabond on:

KayleysMom, Wow! Your eternabond project looked perfect. Your roof is shiny and looked like it is spotless. Birds better not drop anything on that roof. LOL

Before I started this project, I looked around this forum for tips on how to do this and looked at other owners' pictures as well. I thought that by posting my own experience and some pictures, it will provide a starting point to those who are thinking of doing the same project.

I appreciate the information I get from this forum.

Well, we purchased it in January and it has been in the garage except for 3 short day trips, but we are headed out tomorrow. I wanted to get the Eternabond on it as soon as I could but had to wait for warmer weather. Now I have to figure out how to get under those slide toppers to do the bolts on the roof of the slide.

And I agree with you - this forum is very helpful and I am appreciative also!

ADOR, how did you do the vertical lengths on edges where you have to roll over the edges with the Eternabond and keep it from wrinkling?

Like you did on edge of the roof here, where the Eternabond rolls over from the flat of the roof to the gutterline / vertical?

Cardwellmarty, I started laying out about 4-6 inches of the tape (still with backing) on top of the area that I want to apply it to. I used the 6 inch wide tape. I started from the top, working my way down to the side where the gutter line is. Since my RV roofline have that 1 inch piece of molding, I applied pressure over that molding (using my index and middle finger) to form/cast the shape of the tape (with backing still in place). I did not measure the are to be covered as "exactly" 6 inches since applying the tape over that molding will pull the tape shorter that 6 inches (as supposed to applying it over a real FLAT surface). Hope that make sense.

I then use a fine tip marker and placed a small dot marking on the top/left corner of the tape (since I applied the tape from LEFT, to RIGHT). I peeled of about 2 inches off the tape backing, then apply the TOP left corner first where I placed the mark (dot). I apply slight pressure on the TOP area first (about 2 inches), then rub the tape going down to the gutter line. Once you get the first 2 inches FLAT and SMOOTH, (top to bottom), place your Left Hand's index and middle finger OVER the molding, then from underneath the tape that still have the backing, gently pull 1-2 inches of the backing, then rub your index and middle finger over the molding (to follow the contour of the molding).

IF you don't have the same molding, follow the same step, from TOP to BOTTOM. 1-2 inches at a time.

Some spots will have some imperfections. Just be patient and do it slowly. Hope this help.
