Kitchen Exhaust Vent

Attached is a picture of my Kitchen Exhaust Vent on my 2015 Forest River Sunseeker GTS. I recently purchased the motorhome and upon my first cooking effort, we got a lot of smoke in the home. Upon further investigation part of the problem is the external cover for the vent is closed. There are two knobs that are probably the locks for the cover. I not sure what direction to move the knobs. They are plastic and I am fearful of breaking them. It doesn't appear the vent has ever been opened. Suggestion for properly opening this vent is appreciated.

Press gently up and out on the two tabs to release the vent cover. When you operate the fan the vent will fully open.

I see it’s just your first post.

How about a little more info. How about a photo of your entire rig. What model?
Whereabouts is home base?

Just askin’.

Remember this when you're sitting in the rig and it's windy and you can't figure out what that "flapping" noise is. Drove me nuts one weekend.

You’ll probably want to reclose the vent flap as part of your departure checklist. On our Sunseeker, having the flap open causes a lot of noise when we are traveling.
