Ladder repair on a 2020 Forest River Flagstaff

Soooo, we've had our Flagstaff 8323clsb since Mid June. It's our second RV so we are not new to it but there are many new features we are getting use to. One of those being the 5 and a half foot length increase and the probably 1 and a half foot height increase. The latter being the problem we have with the ladder (pun intended).

I am not sure how it happened but I can only assume it occurred backing in at night to a camping site that had a slightly low hanging tree that the ladder on one side must have hit and bent it on the top left section. Now I need to replace either that section or the whole ladder which is $450 bucks for labor plus the ladder. Seems ridiculous!!!

My question is would you replace it or just get an extension ladder and keep that and make sure the caulk at the ladder point on the roof is always good. The ladder works just looks bad and will likely come out with continued use.

Not sure what you have done about this since your post.

I backed up into a tree in my yard about 10 years ago and caused similar damage. At the time, I didnt have a rear observation camera, now I do. And the tree is gone.

My dealer pieced in a portion of another ladder they had lying around the shop, I suspect this damage is not uncommon.

The fix is not noticeable and it's completely useable. Cost was about an hour of shop time.

NEVER use a Damaged ladder! The RV ladders are Not "Heavy Duty" to begin with! Youroo!!

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. As stated you could scab on a piece from an old ladder which seems a good idea and in addition purchase yourself on of those collapsable ladders saves walking all over the roof to just service one part.
