Thank you. I guessed that was probably the case, but figured there had to be more to it.

Put 3 Camco covers on my SunSeeker. Very easy install. Used. (blue) locktite on the screws to keep them from vibrating loose.

Reference the Maxxair Fans vent lid. I installed a 4500 Maxxair fan with remote last July. No cover over this one as it has a rain sensor and does close if any moisture detected. Well, all was great last season, fan functioned and lid went up and down. Now, after sitting through the winter months, the lid will not open when turning on the fan. Sticky lid syndrome, I guess. I did remove screen and fan blades and was able to get lid to pop open while pressing upward. However, now a week later and the lid is stuck again. This fan is in the kitchen area of our Crusader 294, and requires a ladder to reach it. Anyone offering fix suggestions will be appreciated.
As for vent covers I have installed two, one in bedroom after installing a manually operated maxxair fan, and one in bathroom over supplied vent fan. Both are maxxair covers in black, to block out light.

xcopper, Have you contacted Maxxair? I would hope to think they would have a solution or stand behind their product since it's less than a year old. Good Luck!

X2.
MaxxAir has good customer service. They once replaced a noisy fan motor
for me that was 3 years old!! Call them!

I prefer the covers tho.... we camp off the grid on occasion. With the covers you can have fresh air even if it's pouring rain!
I don't want to have to shut mine, manually or automatically!

First time out with the new Sunseeker last year, I took my drill and necessary tools to install 3 MaxxAir covers. Wouldn't own another unit without putting them on first thing!

I just attempted to get some assistance with my sticky fan lid. Called Aircel which is now parent company to maxxair. Person who identified self as head tech said he had never heard of the problem. his solutions were a variety of voltage issues. He then attempted to send me to an engineer and that transfer only lost the connection. Does anyone have a contact number for Maxxair ?

His one on the far left looks like a MaxAir11 and the others like regular MaxAirre...the 11 has a larger vent area, and can be opened by simply pulling cotter pins, whereas the regular Max Aire requires you take a wrench or socket up there and remove the net in order to flip the lid and clean inside.

Yeah, I would figure it is a Fanmate. I was at work when I ordered the other three and thought I had the right ones. But, hey, they ALL work the way I hoped. And, yes, they ALL have the hinge -easy cleaning!
BTW, these were the first mod to the then new Sunseeker. First trip out and I had to get these on!
