Need help with cracked molding

Hi All,
I was inspecting my roof today and noticed a crack in the molding. Any suggestions on what to use to seal it up and prevent moisture from getting in?
Thanks!

Pro-flex is what I'd use.

I'd inspect well to make sure it won't continue to crack though first.. you may need to replace it.

Geocel 28103 Pro Flex Black RV Flexible Sealant - 10 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VARIII..._GRyqzbPNQW453

Looks like I need to replace. I looked at all corners and they were all cracked or cracking. Is this normal for a 2016?

I wouldn't think so.. I'd make the dealer fix it. It's still got warranty, right?

Should be warranty but if it's a hassle, RTV silicone will do it as well.

You can buy 10 to 100 foot rolls of that moulding on Amazon. I purchased a 100 foot roll of american made rubber for 30 bucks with shipping. Pop the old moulding out, and clean the grooves then pop the new moulding in. Lay it in the sun for a bit to soften it as you have to compress it to fit it in the upper lip.Trim and caulk the ends. If the screws are rusty under the cracking just replace them. Good luck finding one that is driven in straight however. .

Thanks. I switched two of them out today. Wasn't a straight screw to be found!

I have news for you and it's not good news either. If you peel the moulding out and the screws underneath are rusty, you have way more than a rusty screw issue, you have a water intrusion issue and if the screw heads are rusty, the wood underneath is on it's way to rotting away (that is what causes the screws to rust), the water reacting with the wood fibers and creating a mild acid.

So the wood rots between the outer skin and the wallboard inside, soaks the fiberglass insulation and not only do you get rot, you get mold growth too and some strains of that mold are hazardous to your health.

Rusty screw heads are the indicator of bad things to come, all because you didn't watch your seals and caulk, the lifeblood of any RV.
