Opening roof vents

Just bought my first 5th wheel and have a roof vent in the main living area that I cannot reach. I am 6'2 and not even close the reaching it. The obvious is standing on something but wondering if there was a tool or extension that is out to turn the knob?

I just had the dealer install a Maxx-air fan with a remote.

I cut a pc of 1"dia pvc and cut a notch in it to fit the handle and use it to open/close the vent.

I converted my Fantastic fan to remote control. There are kits available.

Mine has a "d" ring on the knob. The tool that came with it is very similar to your awning hook/tool.Click image for larger version

Thank you, all great tips. Mine does not have the D ring on it but may be easy to add, the PVC pipes both look/sound simple enough. Will pick one on the weekend and make it.
