Rear side caps caulk or not to caulk

Photos show the body seams we are dealing with. Are these seams caulked when rv is new?
Our 2017 Sunseeker GTS has end caps from the roof cap to the top of the bumper. In May 2020 the RV service we’ve used for the past 4 years said they needed to be caulked and used Geocel ProFlex RV. All of the seals have cracked and we are cleaning them up.
Anyone else have this issue and what did you use? Now a potentially dumb question—are they even supposed to be caulked?

If it was my motorhome those seams would be caulked. Geocel is what I use and recommended by my FR dealer.

You can apply Geocel over areas it was previously applied to but I always remove it. It usually comes off in fairly long pieces once you get hold of an end or edge. Then clean and let dry for best results.

Applying it sparingly is best and stop squeezing the trigger a couple inches before you stop running the gun. Spend an extra few dollars on a rotating barrel gun with the pressure release feature. When it comes to the amount of caulk you apply more is not always better unless you've got a problem. Only applying under a foot before smoothing lightly, I repeat lightly, with a finger dipped in a heavy concentration of Dawn dish detergent and water. Do not push to caulk into the seam,, just smooth it lightly. Wipe your finger dry and repeat this process, connecting your next bead to where you stopped. End to end beads can be done neatly where the older bead tapers down, then the adjoining bead can overlap it slightly.

Your second picture showed a bead that looked too heavy and wide. All thats needed is to fill the seam.

BTW, sealing is a never ending process. I keep a log of all my maintenance and to-dos. Its too easy to forget what I did in the spring by mid summer

And, I try to do seam maintenance before rv season taking advantage of warm dry days.

I found a post on this and I found it works well, especially for us beginners, you can't go wrong, just do a section at a time and remove tape immediately.
