Relieved! Thought roof was cracked
While installing slide toppers on our 2017 Windjammer, I noticed that the black vinyl screw cover was cracked along the roof gutter, and also thought that the roof membrane was cracked where it ran over the edge of the roof. Today, I took a ladder to our trailer storage and looked closer. Fortunately, the cracks are not in the membrane, but just in the thin excess sealant that was spread out above the gutter. I was planning to run Eternabond down the sides of the roof and over the gutter trim. But it doesn't appear to be necessary.
I was concerned because our trailer is only 4 years old and stays in a fully enclosed storage unit. I didn't understand why the roof was cracking already. Thankfully it's not. I still don't know why the vinyl screw trim is cracked, it's only exposed to sun a few times a year. But, it's cheap and easy to replace.
