Removing Black Streaks

The best thing you can do about black streaks is to not get them in the first place. If your RV does not have rain-gutter extensions (the one's that stick out about 4" or so) install one on every short drip spout on your RV and this will substantially reduce or even eliminate your "black streak problem" by moving the run-off from your roof outwards beyond the sidewalls of your RV.

I wash mine with Tide with bleach laundry detergent. The black streaks simply wash away and the camper shines like a new penny.

I just used Meguiars Cleaning Wax yesterday and it did take off the black streaks on our aluminium siding - it worked! While I was add it, I waxed the all the fiberglass gel doors with the same stuff.

Our new Crusader 270 RET 2011 came with them, but if its not perfectly leveled, ours is not, then you will get black streaks..ours run down the rear because the RV is parked in a nose high attitude and I can't seem to get it down low enough...so black streaks..
Good coat of wax helps in getting them off though..

Tide (or other laundry detergents) will strip any wax, so be sure to re-wax after.

We also use Awesome cleaner from the dollar store on the black streaks, Spic and span on the roof and magic erasures on the awning. They all do a great job. After washing we use Maguires to wax the nose cone of the 5er to keep off the bugs. Really helps alot!

Good advice - but If you do get them, I was told that using Mineral Spirits would get them off. I tried using it and it does remove them.

I got a bottle of MS at Wal Mart in the paint department in the solvent aisle.

I've been seeing more and more RVs with full body paint and I wonder if some of these products will harm their finish.

I have used Simple Green to clean the streaks. I have a few spray bottles with different strength mixes. I will start with the weaker mix and use full strength for the more stubborn streaks.
