Removing Tape Adhesive From Front Cap
I had my trailer in for routine service and repair this week. I picked it up Thursday and discovered someone had taped the service number card to the front cap with packing tape instead of taping it to the LP gas tank cover. I raised a stink with the owner and he said it will wash off. Really!?!?  
Besides never using that bunch ever again, how do you get this mess off of the front cap without damaging it or the finish? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Check out Goo Gone. We used it on quite a few things over the years. Softens and removes the glue residue but has not damaged any of our paint so far.
Don’t have any handy to read the label but may be an option.

Believe it or not - PEANUT BUTTER. The oils in it soften the adhesive to the point it can then be wiped off. A little soap and water after that and you're done.

NO it will not wd-40 works well at removing adhesive and does not damage the finish.

The active ingredient in WD-40 is fish oil, so no harmful effects.

X2 on Goo Gone...even takes vinyl glue off plexiglass without harm.

WD-40 and GooGone both work well. The absolute best is 3M Adhesive remover, at about $15 for a large spray can. This is the best for heavy tough glues, like used on tapes or decals.

I used WD-40 on the ABS roof of our old Coleman popup with no I’ll affects. I’ve used Goo Gone on the fibreglass wall of a travel trailer with no I’ll affects.

I had a tire blowout on a painted aluminum trailer. Tire pieces slapped the side of the trailer and left black marks. Goo Gone did a nice job of removing the black tire marks but also began to remove the paint.

Even better than Goo Gone is Contractor's Solvent. It will remove ALL adhesive remains quickly. It is the best for removing labels off of glass containers you want to save. It will also remove latex paint and caulk!
