Repeatedly having caulking failure
Since owning my 5er (4yrs) I have had an issue with the failure of a caulking or sealant on the bottom front right and left corner of the nose. My assumption is that the nose is flexing while being towed and reopens the seam.
I have tried a variety of different types of caulking and sealant but continue to have the same failure. The last sealant I tried (as shown in my pics) was Dicor self-leveling caulk.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what have you done to resolve the issue?
Additionally, I have removed the protective cover to expose the trailer frame and did not see any damage, stress cracks or metal or weld failure.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Tom

Fortunately I don't have a water infiltration issue at the moment and have avoided a leak by resealing the seam at each destination. But in an effort to avoid ever having a leak, I am trying to figure out what type of caulking I can use that would have sufficient flexibility for this seam.

It would certainly work, but it would not be very attractive.

I use Lexel. Sticks to everything and remains very flexible.

I had given Lexel a try and the caulking that is shown in the picture I shared is Lexel. I was hopeful when I applied it that it would stay pliable but it hardened up quite stiff and failed.
This past Monday I removed the Lexel and applied the ProflexRV caulking. I am heading out Friday for a 150mi run to a PA State park CG and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the ProflexRV will hold up. At that point it will be 4 days for the ProflexRV to set and cure.

Odd, Lexel is my caulk of choice for those areas. I don’t think I have had any issues with it hardening.

Same. I've been using the stuff for years on my bass boat, TT, Jeep, house. All of it is still good and flexible. Takes like 2 weeks to cure.
