Replacing crank up vents

The crank up roof vents are they all a standard size? i see 14x14 is a standard but are they all? I need to replace all 3 due to heat damage and wanted to buy first.

Go up on top and measure them, are you replacing the whole vent or just the cap? You may want to look at getting some vent covers, they are not that much and of you get the smoked colored it will help keep the heat out and protect the new vent covers, I put vent covers on mine when it was new and when I had to replace my skylight I put several coats of Flex Seal on it to protect the skylight and keep the heat out.

14" x 14" is the common standard size for the vent OPENING in the ceiling/roof.
That's not necessarily the size of the vent lid itself.

The lid is easily replaceable on most vents but you do need to know which hinge type you have as there are different ones.

Once you've replaced the lid, install a vent cover to keep the sun off them and to allow you to use the vent even when it is raining.

Thanks, but measuring them, is not helping me. The hole diameter on the roof is what I am looking for. I am replacing all 3 entire vents

Then pull interior trim ring and measure opening only 4 screws on trim ring.

There are three different types of roof vent hinges. I assume you can buy the whole vent assembly if you want to scrape off all that caulk but unless the crank-up thing is broken, replacing the lid with a new lid is all you probably need to do.

Here's a photo chart of the several hinge types. Mine (Rockwood Fifth Wheel) was the New Elixir and it was easy to slide on and off and attach. And no caulk scraping!

I'd say get white. Darker colors absorb the heat. At least that's my experience with reefer semi-trailers. But what do I know.

you can replace the crank also. I agree with covers.
