roof issue

Got a question,
I have discovered a slice in my TT's roof. The TT is only 5 mouths old. I bought it last year at the end of the season. We camped in it for a week. Then brought it home, winterized it, and took it to indoor storage for the winter. At no time had anything struck the roof of the camper.
I discovered the slice (about 2.5-3 inches long) when I went to install two Camco roof vent covers. I took it strait to the dealer and explain all said above. They looked at it, took pictures of it, and submitted it for Warranty work. The work order was denied. Now while the whole paper work thing was being done. One of the service guys came out a placed what look like a big sticker over the slice and said it was ok to camp in.
My question is, what do I do? I feel they should replace the roof. They seem to disagree. They have offered to put a false sewer vent over the slice. They offered to put a Fantastic Fan in where the hole is, but that won't work because it right above a wall in the camper. The only thing that has been done is they have put a super sticky patch over the slice to keep the weather out.
Should I be happy with the patch and be done with it or should I press the issue for a new roof?

It was probably Eternabond tape which you could confirm with them. If it was AND it was applied properly then it will last the life of the roof. It probably happened at the dealership or it was delivered that way. Personally, I'd be more worried about unseen water damage than the roof repair. Document what happened in case you discover something later. Oh, and maybe instead of a Fantastic Fan or false roof vent you can convince them to give you an extra year on your warranty.

When you did your walk through, did you climb the roof? I can't imagine where a slice would come from.

It doesn't have a latter on it and call it a newbie mistake but no I didn't look at the roof. I also know they didn't either. It was never out of view from signing the papers to hitching it up for the first time.

Huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders for sure.
On a side note, Dealing directly with Coachman was a great experience. Helpful and professional service for sure. Makes me real happy that I picked their brand of TT.

Yes according to the Service Manager for Coachman, the roof and all water damage within the camper will be fix. Have not been contacted by the dealer to schedule the work or been told who is doing the work yet.

Got an e-mail a couple of days ago from my local dealer saying that the materials have been ordered for the roof and as soon as they get them in they will call a schedule the day to bring it in.
