Roof Maintenance

Hi All
New to us;2007 Palamino Stampede S17. What needs to be done to the roof? Previous owner did little as far as maintenance, so we are playing catch up. What do I need to do? What do I need to use? Thanks

You need to look at the overall condition of the roof membrane and make sure it's in good shape. Once that's done you need to look at all the caulking beads. If there are any beads that are cracked or loose from the membrane/protrusion you need to reseal them. Depending on the condition of the caulking beads you can add self-leveling lap sealant over any cracks or if it loosened you need to scrape as much as you can off and replace it.

You can also use Eternabond tape to cover the beads of caulking.

Mikelens ... listen to the Bama Rambler. Great advice every time. Right on the money here as well.

Roof Maintenance

I have been cleaning the roof on my 2018 Forest River Surveyor every couple of months and then applying 303 Aerospace to protect it from the Suns UV rays. I also applied Eterna bond tape to both the front and rear seals, also around the vents, shower sky window. In my opinion, as long as you do a regular inspection and maintenance, your roof should last you a long time!

Good Luck!
