Roof never sealed from the factory?

So I took my 2014 forest river heritage glen 282rk in to the shop because I was having some leaks, the shop called me and told me that the end seems around the trailer were never sealed to begin with, and should of been done from the factory. Is there any recourse with Forest River with this? I'm fine with paying to have everything done but it seems like the manufacturer dropped the ball on my trailer from the factory. Has anyone else dealt with this? I bought the trailer a year ago but I'm new to RVing so I couldn't really tell any of this was an issue. The trailer is not under any warranty.

Very short answer...NO!!!
You have a 4 year old trailer, that you bought used. Originally it probably had a one year warranty on the body, so any help from the factory/manufacturer is loooong gooone.
Possibly and very likely the previous owner did not keep up with the maintaince, leaving you in a bind.
Basically, unless you can get some kind of help from the place you purchased it from, your S.O.L.
When buying used, BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Yeah, the roof material/membrane/fiberglass may have a warranty, but not the seams or caulk that was used to seal the seams.
The caulk and keeping the seams water tight is a maintaince item and must be checked several times a year to catch any cracks or missing caulk.
As far as the roof material being under warranty from the manufacturer, if you had a problem with it, good luck with trying to get it repaired as a second or third owner. Not going to happen in this lifetime.
OP is pretty much out of luck.

Mine says that too. Might be an option for the OP, if he is the original purchaser.

Woody, read his post...seams are leaking and he has owned a 4 year old trailer for one year.
Original owner probably never took care of routine maintaince as far as re- caulking the seams.

My mistake. Saw the four year, missed the one year part.

The 12 year roof warranty is from the roof material manufacturer, not FR.

If the seams "were never sealed to begin with" in my opinion that trailer would have been totaled years ago by leaks, rot, and mold. It would have serious leaks from day one if never sealed on the ends. It's more likely the previous owner did not inspect and refresh the sealant as necessary which led to leaks later.

My roof

My roof was caulked by a blind man or a child who thought it only needed a strip of caulk somewhere near the seam.
I taped the whole thing myself.

I bought a 2018 sunseeker 2860ds and the seams are only warranted for 90 days. Says so in writing 90 days. It is owners responsibility to inspect and reseal any penetrations and seams.

The roof may have the warranty but not the seals / seams.

I learned this one the hard way, I purchased a 2017 Coachmen new and found a spot on the front right corner that wasn't sealed up completely from the factory.. I had only owned the trailer for approx 6 months when I found it. The cut was hidden under a loose piece of butyl sealant.. To make a long story short, the water of course found its way in and rotted out a 2x2 area of plywood on the roof, it ran down the front trim and got into the underbelly.. I contacted Forest River and the dealer, both said it was general maintenance and even though the unit is still under warranty, it was not covered....Regardless if it was already leaking/damaged when I purchased it. They said you should check the roof sealant every 30 days. Lesson learned, and I will keep a much closer eye on the roof sealant. I had checked it a couple if times during the summer, but it was well hidden and I missed it.

I have been working on the repair now.
