Underbelly

The fabric underbelly flew apart on my TT. I've read that some RV's use tin roofing material to replace it cause it works better. The read tell's me that this stuff can be found at the hard ward store. Lowe's or HD couldn't find! Any idea's?

You can also buy Coroplast sheets and use those. To me they're better than trying to work with roof sheeting.

Can you tell me what sizes these sheets come in? I found them on Amazon but the widest is only 24 in...

Home Depot and Lowes have them in 4'x8' sizes 5/32" thick. You can also find them at sign shops. You'll want to get them from a local place as the shipping of large sheets would be pretty expensive.

I think both HD and Lowes will ship to store for free.

What do you use to fasten the sheets in place?

The factory uses thin metal strips length wise and screw up into frame, and wood going across. Start at back going forward so you can overlap the seems.

They also lay 1/2" sheets of Styrofoam on top of it to increase the freeze protection a little.

I used 2" foam above the bottom plastic after I found most of the fiberglass insulation was wet and starting to mold. The lower skin was resting on the axel. I then used self tapping screws with fender washers to fasten the belly skin up. I also added screws in between all the screws on each side to try to keep the water out. I used foam spray and taped up all holes to finish off the sealing of the belly skin. 320RS has 1,000 miles and is just year old this Oct. 2015.

My old TT had the aluminum sheet metal stuff to cover the bottom. It was very thin and had a sort of crinkly pattern to it. I had to remove three sheet of this stuff once when I had to replace both the grey tank and black tank valves. Putting it back on was not so bad. My new TT has some type of material which appears to be a rough woven fiberglass mat with a black coating sprayed onto it.
