In the mean time, you can fold several layers of aluminum foil over the broken vent's frame and clamp it closed tight.
I've had this happen once or twice. I always borrow a square yard of 10 mil construction vinyl from the campground operator, fold it in fourths, and tuck it under three sides (all but hinge) while DW cranks the vent closed.
