What silicone should be used

So after having my unit at the dealer for a leak in my bedroom slide they think it's fixed. We won't know till its open for spring. They stated I should put a small bead of good silicone around all my seams and windows. Just wondering what brands anyone suggests for fiberglass sided unit.

I think I would consider something other than silicone rtv for what you are doing. Once you use silicone. you will have a hard time getting it off and clean enough to bond something else. When I look at the texture of the sealants on mine, I know it's not silicone. Take a look at the specs and properties of Geocel- ProSeal RV sealants(colors available). Looks more like the animal you are looking for around the seams. Lot of the windows are in with a rubber gasket. Do a little homework 1st! Try rv upgrades.com. No doubt, you'll get more than 1 opinion, that my 2 cents

X2 except for the roof. I have an Alpha roof so I use their sealants on the roof.
I stay away from silicone.

Thanks I didn't think I should use silicone because of maybe having to re do it some day. I also did not think I should have to do the windows at all. I will check that website out. The only leak I have or had was in the bedroom slide when it's out. So either the two widows or the slide roof.

I had chased a similar problem, Found that is was not the window but the seam between the outer wall and the top of slid box, It was leaking down between them and it would get to the window and leak around the window making 3 dealers think it was the window leaking, I Finally looked a bit deeper and found this. Used esterbond tape and sealed the top seam and have not had any leaks since.

x3 on the lexel...my dealer suggested DAP clear silicone that's all we use is what they said...needless to say I have been taking that off and cleaning and replacing with lexel as needed! I am very impressed with lexel so far it hard yet u can tell flexible kinda weird lol. It will take a lot of time and elbow grease once silicone has been used...I peel the silicone out then spend a lot of time cleaning with denatured alcohol and mineral spirits if need be! I have not had an issue with it bonding if its cleaned off really well! Lexel is easily found at lowes or of amazon!

For horizontal seams on the roof, use the appropriate self-leveling lap sealant - Dicor 501 (comes in multiple colors) for EPDM roof membranes or Alpha Systems 1021 Sealant for TPO membranes.

For vertical seals, I use Geocel ProFlex RV.

For a more permanent fix on your roof, you can apply Eternabond tape right over cleaned lap sealant.

DO NOT USE SILICONE. We had to replace some propane doors and called the manufacturer for the proper sealer. They said LOCKTITE 2in1 Seal & Bond Polyseamseal. Got ours at LOWES. Works perfect. Looks as good as factory. Cleans easy.

For anything on the roof they said LAP SEAL.

The mfg. of my 5r mentioned the same products as itat's post, Dicor 501, Geocel Proflex RV, plus Alpha Super Flex self leveling lap sealant. Silicon is not recommended in my owners manual, good place to start to find out what you should use.
