2015 GT 351DS. Went to open the passenger side rear most compartment and the key simply broke off inside the keyhole of the slam latch. Now it's stuck inside. What are my options?
Take it to a locksmith after taking the whole assembly out or do I just replace the assembly?
I looked and it wasn't obvious to me that the lock tumbler can be removed... Any ideas?
If the key will stick to a magnet. You can try flat blade screwdriver with the strongest magnet on it. Some penetrating oil might help. If the is in a bind an O ring pick might help.
I have been able to do this on some locks on heavy equipment and sometimes the key had been force in place.
The O ring pick should be able to wiggle the key. Pushing on it can lodge or wedge it.
