2016 Salem Screen Door Issue

just purchased a Salem d bud and are having problems with the screen door.at night when we lock the door and attach the screen to the exterior door they stay together. But when you try to open the door in the morning the screen detaches from the door and only opens separately they don't stay attached together. Is this normal?

it doesn't seem right that you should have to detach the screen from the door to open it but they should be together or you can use them separately.

I had this problem with my Wildwood X-Lite. I took a look and found that the screen door handle frame has getting hung up on the door strike, causing the screen door to stay shut when you opened the exterior door. In my case, both the handle frame and strike were adjustable. I moved the two away from each other little by little until the strike didn't interfere with the handle frame. Now the screen stays attached to the main door as it should. Hope yours is as easily fixed.
