Could you give us more information such as make and model of awning?

There are many different makes and models and each is somewhat different.

Lots of folks have replaced parts and will likely give advice if we have the correct information.

I just did one on my fiberglass Rockwood. I have the Dometic AE 9100 power awning.

I used a big ratchet straps (actually, two chained together) to support one side of the awning while I was dismantling the arm. Wrap them over the camper and secure one side to the frame. On the other side, make a loop and wrap that around the end of the awning you're working on.

It'll depend on the brand of awning and the way your camper is made on how the arms are removed. I think we should know that.

For my camper, it has two lag bolts at the top and the rest of it is secured with pop rivets. They are not your normal rivet and don't attempt to use normal ones. I learned that the hard way.

Let us know what you got and we can go from there.

I’m joining this thread because we are looking for the same help. My husband closed the awning while the portable fridge was sitting under it. The arm hit the fridge and the fridge won 😳.

We have a 2018 Alpha Wolf with the Dometic 9100 power awning. He took the arm off and straightened it as best he could but can’t get it back in place correctly to get the pins to line up. The biggest issue is getting the arm hooked back to the awning roller. Right now everything is zip ties together and it’s situated a dealer but it’s gonna be a month before they even look at it and we need to fix it sooner. Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Can you post up some pics of where you're at now? Is the arm out? Which end was damaged? A photo would help.
